Career consultants are here to support you in finding out what kind of job you really want. We can also help you to identify your strengths and values so they match the types of jobs you are looking for. Career consultants can also work with you in areas you might require extra support like resume writing or interview skills.
We work with people of all abilities from entry-level jobseekers to established employees who are looking to make a move to a new industry or gain a promotion.
The Strengths Profile was developed in 2009 by Cappfinity, an organisation founded in 2005 by Dr Alex Linley, a leading expert in strengths psychology and Nicky Garcea, psychologist and strengths expert.
After working with many businesses and conducting scientific studies, Cappfinity found that "when we use our strengths, we are happier and experience more vitality and positive emotions. We are less stressed, better at achieving our goals, perform better and are more engaged at work."
With the support of an Accredited Strengths Profile Practitioner, Strengths Profile will help you discover your Realised Strengths, Learned Behaviours, Weaknesses, and Unrealised Strengths and how to use your strengths to support you in areas that may be challenging.
The best thing about Strengths Profile is that it is dynamic and is designed to be retaken every 12 months. You are not boxed in by the profile, rather it can provide a unique insight into what is happening for you at the time of the profile and de-briefing session.
B.A. (Comm. Stud.), Cert IV Frontline Management, Accredited Strengths Profile Practitioner
Melanie started her career working in radio and print media. A change of direction saw her move into recruitment roles and the vocational education and training sector, in particular, working with apprenticeships, traineeships, and funded training.
Melanie has 15 years’ experience working across multiple state government departments and has led several successful asset-based programs which supported vulnerable people with multiple complex barriers, including CareerPathways, Rent Choice Youth, and the Cessnock Place Plan project. Over the years she has seen a direct correlation between people's mental health, wellbeing, and sense of worth, and their ability to gain and maintain employment.
Melanie has also spent many years on both sides of NSW public sector recruitment panels and knows what it takes to get an application across the line and what panels are looking for in a candidate.
Melanie loves working with people and is passionate about helping others to realise their potential.
